Wanted to catch Cheer 陈绮贞's concert as it's only the second time that the Taiwanese indie singer is performing in Singapore.

Alas, still nursing foot sprain, so my health must take precedence.

Read from today's newspapers reviews that she gave 5 encores at the one-nite-concert at the S'pore Expo last Sat. Hope she comes back again!

Cheer has a crystal-clear voice that reminds you of the simple pleasures of life. Do read the lyrics, which are quite meaningful & poetic. I especially like << 旅行的意义>> & <<太多>>.

Hmm, reminds me that I also missed Corrinne May's one-nite-only concert at NUS's University Cultural Centre on 3 Aug this year as it clashes with a friend's wedding dinner.

Corrinne has done 3 one-nite-only concerts in Singapore & I have missed all of them so far :(
...either because tickets were quickly sold out or I can't attend...

When I asked around for her latest album "Beautiful Seed" at 3 record stores around Bugis, none of the sales people have heard of her! Eventually found it at a bigger record shop in Raffles City shopping centre.

Corrinne Foo May Ying (her full name) is a Singaporean singer based in Los Angeles, USA. She has released 4 English language albums so far: "Fly Away" (2001), "Safe in a Crazy World" (2005) , "The Gift" (released in end 2006 & features classic Christmas songs as she's a devout Christian) & "Beautiful Seed" (2007).

Read that she was in Japan till 29 Sep to promote "Beautiful Seed" in Fukuoka, Osaka & Tokyo. MTV Asia said that "Beautiful Seed" is the most popular of her albums

Some of my favourity songs from her repertoire are: "Fly Away", "Little Superhero Girl", "Safe in a Crazy World, "Angel in Disguise", "The Birthday Song" (especially poignant when you listen to it on your birthday), "Scars (Stronger for Life)" & "Slow Down".
